As we near the end of the year, we want to share with you a few ways that you can give back to the community and support each other during the holiday season and winter months. For many, the holidays can be a tough time, so please take a moment to see where you can step in and lift others.
Give to the Max!
Minnesota’s Annual Season of giving kicks off with Give to the Max, a chance for you to support your favorite local nonprofits and schools in Minnesota! You can get started now by Giving to the Max for the next two weeks, leading up to the big day on November 17. Click here to start giving >>
Get Out and Volunteer
Time is a valuable thing! Volunteer with a food pantry, a school, a community event, or another non-profit. Do you have some VTO (volunteer time off) days through work? Now’s the time to use them! Visit VolunteerMatch to get started and sign up for Wavemaker opportunities!
Support Local Businesses
The Greater Wayzata area and surrounding communities are full of local shops and restaurants. Stop in and find a gift for yourself or that special someone! Or purchase a gift card for a fun night out. Start by joining us at our Sip, Shop, & Support event on November 17. Learn more here >>
Donate Food, Furniture, Goods
Before throwing things out, see if you can donate your goods to a local non-profit. Do a quick google search to see who accepts, you’ll see a couple of our members like Hope Chest and Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners on the list!
Welcome New Businesses
We hope you continue to support your new business neighbors year-round. Please join us at upcoming Ribbon Cutting Celebrations to give new businesses a very warm welcome. Visit our Community Calendar to see upcoming Ribbon Cutting Celebrations!
Show Kindness, Pay it Forward
Many businesses are still experiencing staffing shortages, and we all know how busy the holiday season can be! Please be patient, show kindness, and tip generously when able. See our Who’s Hiring section in the 511 if you know someone looking for employment opportunities.
