Wayzata Chilly Open Cinema & Skates

We are shifting to fairer weather … Due to the forecast for extreme cold temperatures and wind chill through next weekend, we are shifting the Wayzata Chilly Open Cinema & Skates event to the following weekend, February 19 & 20. The safety and enjoyment of all attending and volunteering are our primary concerns. See you on February 19 & 20!
Skate the Lake! Experience Lake Minnetonka’s first infinity skating loop – a 45,000 sq. ft on-ice venue. It’s perfect for a date night or a night of family fun! So bundle up, bring your skates (or a lawn chair) and watch one of the featured films on the big screen. Tickets are required and limited to 250 people at any given time. Don’t miss the big attractions! Meet Olaf Friday from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Enjoy Friday Fireworks at 7 pm. Bring your pooch from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm on Saturday if you’re getting tickets for The Call of the Wild film.
Can I bring a camping chair or blanket? YES! Please dress warm and feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket to the event. The Wayzata Area Chamber is not liable for any personal belongings brought into the event venue.
Is the event free? No, there is a $10 per person fee and registration required to attend the Wayzata Chilly Open Cinema & Skates event. This is a fundraiser for the Wayzata Area Chamber as it supports many of the initiatives for the organization. Thank you for supporting the Wayzata Chamber and our local business community!
What COVID measures are in place? This outside event will adhere to CDC guidelines and State of Minnesota COVID-19 policies. All workers, volunteers and guests will be required to adhere to the policies as described in our Covid-19 Preparedness Plan found on our website. Occupancy limits, social distancing and increased sanitation measures will be implemented. All guests will complete a verbal Covid-19 screening at Check In. If you are experiencing symptoms, have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days, we ask that you stay home and do not attend this event.
Do I need a reservation? Yes. Ticket reservations are REQUIRED to gain access to the Cinema & Skates Event Venue in compliance with the current MN State Covid-19 Outdoor Event Guidelines. Every person in your party must have a reservation. Reserve your spot by completing registration on our website.
Is there a warming house or a place to warm up? The Wayzata Chilly Open Cinema & Skates event is an outdoor only event, taking place on Wayzata Bay, on the ice, in downtown Wayzata. There will be several fire pits burning but this is an open air event with NO warming house. Please dress for the weather! We also encourage you to warm up before or after our event in one of the many amazing shops and restaurants around town!
Can I bring food or drink? Beverages will be allowed in the event, but No beverages will be for sale. AND NO ADULT BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED OFF THE ICE. Due to MN State COVID restrictions, beverages must be consumed while seated or outside the venue.
Is this a Dog Loving event? Yes it is, especially for the Saturday 4:30-6:30 Call of the Wild movie when Dog Treats will be available for our fur friends.

If you are looking for events to be a part of during Wayzata Chilly Open weekend be sure to check out Light Up the Lake festivities in Panoway Park on Lake Street (Friday night 5-7pm including Fireworks), and Snowkiting (Friday and Saturday) – all free to the public.
