A Comedy about Math

Date: October 15, 2022

Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Location: 3311 County Road 101 Wayzata, MN 55391

“Anyone can be a mathematician, you just have to do math.”

Émilie du Châtelet was an 18th century French mathematician and physicist who advanced mathematical understanding of the universe. Her best friend (and on-again, off-again boyfriend) was Voltaire, France’s most famous writer and poet. This fan fiction musical is an enlightening romp through principles and history of math, exploring the degrees of an integral friendship from every angle. This original production fills the shoes of our previous (and now retired) hit Calculus: The Musical! with a similar comedic aesthetic but content that is accessible to math scholars at every high school level and up.

Runtime: 60 minutes

Recommended audience: middle school, high school, college, adult

Émilie's Dramatic Sarcastic Mathematics Playlist is an original production of Matheatre, creators of Curie Me Away!Nikola Tesla and the Mother of Invention, Voyagers and Calculus: The Musical!

Matheatre is an internationally touring theatre company whose mission is to use live theatre to tell stories that inspire excitement about math and science. www.matheatre.com

* Tickets are on a pay as you can scale of $12, $22 and $32. Any amount over $12 goes to promoting the wonderful Matheatre programming.

** Event will start strictly on time at 7:00pm. Please arrive 15 mins early to get settled so as not to be disruptive to the performers.
