Roger Miller Golf Classic presented by Sears Imported Autos and the Post Golf Grill Out

As the late Roger Miller used to say, "It's going to be just GREAT!"

We've got a great tournament planned this year! Same great golf and good times with some added twists to make the event fun for all our members and their guests! And the fun won't end on the 18th hole, join us for the Post-Play Party and Patio Grill Out while we tally the scores to find out who the big winners are on…and off…the course!

Whether you're a competitive golfer, causal player or new to golf, you'll enjoy this year's Choose Your Own Format at the beautiful Medina Golf & Country Club. We also have fun contests throughout the day as well as a raffle with prizes guaranteed to tap into your inner competitive spirit.

There are a variety of ways to be involved! Get a foursome together (or sign up as a single), promote your business and/or products as a sponsor, donate to our raffle, socialize and network with fellow Wayzata Area Chamber members, volunteer, etc.! Whatever your motivation, we want to see you there! What's more, your involvement supports a great cause with proceeds benefiting the Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce.

NOON – Shotgun

4:30 PM – Post-Play Party, including chipping contest, gets started

5:30 PM – Patio Grill Out and Awards

Format

This year we're shaking things up a bit! You get to choose your format!

For those golfers who still have their eye on the coveted Gorham silver-plated traveling ice bucket trophy, we'll have the Shamble format with the Calloway Scoring System. (Foursomes select the best drive, then play their own ball and maintain their own score.) Trophies will be awarded to the Low Gross – Men, Low Gross – Women, and Low Net individual.

For those golfers who are looking for something a little more laid back or may be new to golf, we'll have the Scramble format. (Foursomes select the best drive, then everyone hits from that spot and repeat for a team score on each hole.) Prizes will be awarded to the First Place, Second Place and Third Place teams. The key to winning may be how well you take advantage of the on-course contests. So make sure to bring some extra cash!

Sponsorship Opportunities

$1,000 – Marketing Sponsorship – Looking for a great way to gain exposure for your business/products but also want to compete in the tournament, then the Marketing Sponsorship has your name on it! (Includes Foursome and Hole Sponsorship)

$850 – Foursome – Grab your clients, prospects, colleagues and friends and tee it up for a little friendly competition.

$700 – Post-Play Party / Patio Grill Out Sponsor – You'll be the life of the party and the host with the most!

$600 – Chipping Contest Sponsor – Host the chipping contest where the friendly competition continues after the 18th hole!

$500 – Golf Cart Sponsor – Exposure throughout the course with your company logo on every cart.

$225 – Individual Golfer – Interested in golfing but looking for a foursome? We've got you covered. Join us as an Individual Golfer and we'll put together a foursome for you!

$200 – Hole Sponsorship – Not up for golf but still want to be a part of the fun? A hole sponsorship gives you exposure and the opportunity to promote your business.

$100 – Friends of Roger Miller – Cannot participate this year, but would still like to support the event…we appreciate your contribution.

$50 – Individual Post-Play Party / Patio Grill Out – If you'd like your spouse to join you after golf or you just want to socialize with fellow chamber members — then this is the ticket just for you!

Location

Medina Golf & Country Club is a first rate country club with all the golf components. The Championship 18-hole course features larger than normal, undulating greens that challenge golfers of all abilities. Measuring over 6500 yards, and a course that can be stretched to over 7400 yards, the Championship course hosts some of the states' major championships.

Wayzata Area Chamber

The Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce is local nonprofit organization (501c6) whose goal is to further the interests of its 425 business members and promote the Wayzata/Lake Minnetonka area. They are a resource to local business members and are backed by a Board of Directors comprised of business professionals from our community. They also produce the major community festivals, and serve as the Wayzata Welcome Center.

Who is Roger Miller

Roger Miller was the Chair of The Chamber’s Golf Classic for over 30 years. Roger along with his family was a lifelong Lake Minnetonka area resident and owner of Minnetonka Travel and pillar of the community. and pillar of the community. He was one of the Chamber’s proudest cheerleaders. After Roger’s passing in 2012 the tournament was renamed in his honor.
