A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Hello, Chamber Members and welcome to September. I always think that September can feel different depending on what lens you are looking through. The kids are probably sad summer is over and they’re back to school, but parents are probably doing a happy dance. Did you know September includes “Talk Like a Pirate Day”? I love it! Yep, that’s right, I am going to pepper this month’s newsletter with pirate talk! Ahoy Matey’s, batten down the hatches! Did ye know the Chamber has some treasures for ye to experience?

Kicking off September is our annual James J. Hill Days, Lake Minnetonka’s favorite community tradition, as highlighted by its “Best Of” Lake Minnetonka award. For the last 49 years this annual festival has brought the community together to celebrate Wayzata, while enjoying food, fun & family festivities. There truly is something for everyone. On September 12, you’re invited to True North Yoga’s Welcome Visit & Ribbon Cutting Celebration at 4 pm. It will be held at the Chamber’s office located in the historic Wayzata Train Depot. Come meet our new member Nikki Massa and learn all about her new practice! Join us for another ribbon cutting on September 19 from 4-5pm, for new business in Plymouth – Cereset! Cereset specializes in helping your brain help you. Come learn about this interesting business! The third ribbon cutting is on September 26 for Engel & Völkers. Join us at 4 pm at their new Wayzata shop, located above COV. Come meet the team, and let’s give them a warm welcome them to Wayzata.

Looking to network? On September 28, from 4:00-6:30, join us for Chamber Cheers in the 601 Club! Meet up with fellow Chamber members and expand your sphere of influence. We’ll take intermittent breaks to sample, taste, and learn about some special libations poured just for us. 

Lastly, it’s not too early to register for the Person of the Year Luncheon on Thursday, October 12! Who is it you ask? There are so many great candidates, we’re still deciding.

In closing, we hope you can join us at any and all events, whether you wish to talk like a pirate or not. So, shiver me timbers and a yo ho ho. Don’t be a hornswoggle and come join us!
