A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR
Hello Chamber Members,
It’s here, the big one, James J. Hill Days. The event schedule is packed with fun happenings from September 9-11. It starts with the Rails & Ales Craft Beer Festival on Friday evening and goes through the parade on Sunday afternoon. There will be Dachshund Races, Llamas, an Air Show, and tons of other special events. Meanwhile, the Carnival, Logrolling, Live Music, and Food Trucks will be going on throughout.
Make sure you sign up to volunteer! It is THE best way to connect with other Chamber members and the community. I’ll be in the Beer and Wine tent on Saturday, so come say hi.
While you’re attending, please thank the volunteers and vendors. Let them know that we appreciate their involvement in making James J. Hill Days so amazing. In that spirit, I want to thank the Chamber staff for all of the work they’ve put in so far, and all the work I know they will be putting in this week. They are the reason that this festival is so great EVERY year! Get over to the James J. Hill website, get the events on your calendar, volunteer, and I’ll see you there. A special thank you to Sandvold Financial Group for being our new James J. Hill Days Presenting Sponsor! We are extremely grateful for their partnership.
I also want to highlight the other events that your Chamber is putting on this month (impressive, I know). We’ve got two ribbon cuttings this month for The Thinking Spot, The Fox and Pantry, Speed Networking Happy Hour, and we also have our very first Business Showcase at Nothing Bundt Cakes. The events calendar is always packed for our Chamber, even during the month with our biggest community event.
Thanks Chamber Members and I’ll see you at JJHD 2022!

The Historic steamboat on Lake Minnetonka is looking for a new place to Launch. Fox 9 recently published a story talking with Aaron Person, Lake Minnetonka Board Member, and Tom McCarthy of Lake Minnetonka Museum. “She’s part of our legacy. She connects all of the communities on Lake Minnetonka. She connects us to our past. She probably has another 50 years to go. It would be unthinkable for us to not be able to put this boat from this community back in Lake Minnetonka,” said McCarthy. Read the full article here >>
