A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR
Hello Chamber Members!
I want to start by sharing a big THANK YOU! to each and every one of you for making this year’s James J. Hill Days one for the books! Lake Street was filled with family, friends, food trucks and fairgoers who were eager to visit with our street market vendors, listen to music and enjoy an outdoor event together, once again. Spirits were high and laughter abundant. We are so appreciative of the event’s support each year and look forward to the next! Do you have a favorite moment or photo to share from the weekend? Email info@wayzatachamber.com and you may see it on the website.
Looking ahead into this month’s calendar of events, I hope you have had a chance to register for the 2021 Person of the Year Luncheon on October 14 from 11:30-1 pm. Each year an individual who is an active participant and supporter of Chamber activities and who contributes to the economic, civic, commercial and educational interest in or around the Wayzata area is chosen as Person of the Year. This year, we will be celebrating Steve Langsdale. To know Steve is to love Steve. He is one of the Chamber’s greatest fans and truly embodies our mission and vision of serving our members and community for the greater good. I hope you will join us for lunch to celebrate Steve and all he has contributed to the Chamber and community.
Every October, I feel a sense of renewed energy and excitement to kick off the holiday season – and yes by holiday, I mean Halloween. The Klehr household is gearing up for an extra spooky year! We cannot wait to attend this year’s Boo Blast, which will take place on Saturday, October 30th on Lake Street in conjunction with the 3rd annual Wayzata Boo Bash Dash. I look forward to visiting with participating businesses who are invited to host trick-or-treaters in or outside their location and cheering on runners during the Boo Bash Dash. If you are interested in registering for Boo Bash Dash’s 5K, 10K, Lake Street Mile or 1 Mile Fun Run, visit the festival’s website for sign-up information and full schedule of events. Costumes encouraged!
In closing, I wanted to continue to share my sincere gratitude for the work of our Chamber staff, fellow Directors, community and, most importantly, you – a supporting Chamber member. Our vision of a positive, thriving community is alive and well and I am honored to be a part of it.
Enjoy!
All my best.
