A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Happy June Chamber Members,

The weather’s cooperating, there’s new chamber staff, and we have a big month ahead! Throughout the month, there will be plenty of local events, ribbon cuttings, and live music. Come enjoy some time in the area!

First, I hope to see you at the 63^rd Annual Roger Miller Golf Classic at Burl Oaks Golf Club. I’ll enjoy exploring the woods, rough, sand, water, and occasionally the fairway on Monday June 6^th.

The Wayzata Art Experience is June 25^th and 26^th. Come explore the city, enjoy local artists’ work, and support local businesses. We’ll have a beer and wine tent, live music, and free sail boat rides! Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are still available, so get involved.

Make sure to let us know when you have a great experience with a Wayzata Area Chamber business by nominating a local member for an Exceptional Service Award. It’s a great way to let a chamber member know that they went above and beyond, and it gives exposure to a business you support.

Finally, I want to say happy summer to all students and teachers. As the spouse of a teacher, I get a glimpse into the hard work that teachers, as well as students, put in every day. The last few years (not to mention the last week) has been topsy-turvy for everyone in education. In my experience with the Wayzata Area Chamber, I have come across so many great students; whether they’re our summer interns, the DECA club presenting to the Chamber Board, or sports teams and scout groups volunteering at Chamber events. The greater Wayzata area is blessed to have such great education infrastructure and personnel, and in meeting local students, it shows. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, enjoy summer break!

In early May, the Grizzly’s Wood-Fired Grill got a new facelift, name, and concept! We are excited to check out the new Northern Taphouse this summer. Give them a follow to stay updated on their reopening!
