A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR
Chamber Members,
I’m pleased to report that 2023 ended with the Chamber in a financially strong position. Major festivals and events continued to be very successful and 79 new members joined the Chamber with membership standing close to 400.
In January, we successfully kicked off the Leadership Luncheon Series and look forward to our next luncheon on Thursday, March 7 – Organizational Sales Growth & Entrepreneurial Leadership Development, led by Todd Thiewes, VP of Sales at Sandler and John Klick, EOS Certified Implementer/Business Owner. Register here to reserve your spot. Also in March is the 2024 State of the Cities on Thursday, March 28. We will be joined by Wayzata Mayor Johanna Mouton, Plymouth Mayor Jeff Wosje, Minnetonka Mayor Brad Wiersum, and Long Lake Mayor Charlie Miner. Learn more and register here.
Based on feedback, these programs add value to you and your business, imparting useful information, and providing beneficial network/relationship building opportunities. We encourage you to participate. Click here to view upcoming Leadership Luncheons and other member events.
We are excited to announce a new member program for 2024 – EmpowerHER Women’s Network, with the first luncheon scheduled for February 27. Check out the blog below or click here to learn more and register. Thank you to CEL for being the Host of the new programming.
Unfortunately, The Wayzata Chilly Open was cancelled due to a lack of cooperation by Mother Nature. Thank you to the Wayzata Chilly Open Committee and Chamber staff for their efforts in attempting to make this popular winter festival take place. A special thank you to our sponsors and golfers who showed support the whole way. Save the date for the 2025 Chilly Open on February 8!
Following the Chamber’s February Board of Directors meeting, I will update you on the progress of the strategic planning process. In the meantime, please follow us on social media @wayzatachamber, visit our website, and look for weekly emails for upcoming programs, events, and opportunities.

2024 Chilly Open Cancellation –
Save the Date for 2025!
As we all know, this has just been a terrible year for winter events. It was a heartbreaking decision to cancel the 2024 Wayzata Chilly Open. We’d like to give a big thank you to the Chilly Open planning committee and our incredible team of volunteers who were ready to sacrifice more time to make this event happen. We are grateful for our sponsors and golfers – many reached out asking how to help and cheered us on, thank you so much.
Please save the date for next year’s Wayzata Chilly Open on February 8, 2025! We will be celebrating our BORN IN ’84 theme – so hold on to your leg warmers and we will see our favorite squad soon.
