A Note from the Board Chair

Hello Chamber Members!

As we welcome the beautiful month of June, I feel more hopeful than ever to see our retail shops prop open their doors, restaurants fill their patio, the Plaza pack with excitement and the Bay busy as can be. Our quaint lakeside village of Wayzata, otherwise known as the jewel of Lake Minnetonka, seems to truly come alive this time of year. And after the past year, the summer of 2021 is feeling extra special.

Here at the Chamber, we are so excited to plan for and execute the busy summer schedule ahead. I would love to take a moment to highlight two can’t-miss events to add to your June calendar.

To show our appreciation for your continued support and membership, please join us for a family-friendly picnic on Thursday, June 17th at 4:00 PM at Klapprich Park & Field. There will be food on the grill served by your very own Board of Directors, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, cold beverages and the return of the hotly-contested Home Run Challenge.  Make your team ahead of time or form one day-of with Chamber friend. We cannot wait to see you there!

We are also eager to welcome back the coveted Wayzata Art Experience the weekend of June 26th and 27th. Come for the art, stay for the fun! Join us for this jammed-packed two-day celebration of art, music, food and fun for all ages! You will find additional information about these events and, so many more, available for online registration now at WayzataChamber.com.

In closing, a continued and sincere thank you to our Chamber staff, fellow Directors, committee members and community for sharing in our vision of progress and growth, even in the toughest of times. As they say, “the only thing that is constant is change” and I cannot wait to share what’s next.

Sunnier skies ahead!

– Hannah Klehr, 2021 Board Chair, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage

Sympathy & Condolences

Bill Nelson, long-time community member and volunteer passed away last month.  He will be missed. Bill was a past Person of the Year, Chamber Board Director, and served many years as Treasurer of the Wayzata Lions Club and Wayzata Community Foundation.

His love of life, to serve the community, to laugh, to tell stories, and unwavering love of his family will forever be an inspiration guiding our days.
