Burnet Fine Art & Advisory’s newest exhibition showcases a selection of landscape paintings by Teo Nguyen.

In Nguyen’s newest selection of work, he seeks to capture the contrast of an aerial perspective of deep space with the country roads, farms, big skies, the wonderful shape of tree mass, the abandoned farmhouses, the variety of texture and color of the pasture, the grasses. “I want the viewers to get the sense that they are right there in the environment, and the painting is like the window on a wall that opening into nature.” 

Vietnamese American artist Teo Nguyen lives and works in Minneapolis. His landscapes of the rural upper Midwest capture the vast space, boundless fields, big skies, and chilling isolation distinctive to the region. 

Nguyen studied art and design at De Anza College, San Francisco, Fresno State University, California, and École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Public collections include Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN; Weisman Museum, Minneapolis, MN; Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul, MN; North Dakota Museum of Art, Grand Forks, ND; MN History Center, St. Paul, MN; and General Mills Corporate Collection, Minneapolis, MN.
