A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR
Happy New Year! 2023 was a year of many accomplishments, including the first Leadership Luncheon Series and a record-setting number of registered golfers at the Chilly Open. Thanks to Becky, Brooke, Judy, and Anna for all their hard work and dedication. A big thank you to outgoing Board of Directors Chair, Kathy Packard, for her hours of service and leadership. I am honored to be leading the charge as your 2024 Chairperson.
In the summer of 2023, we began a process to update our long-range Strategic Plan. Membership surveys gave the Chamber high marks as well as great insights and direction for the future. Focus groups provided even more valuable information about who we are and where we’re headed.
In the upcoming months, the Board of Directors and staff will continue to work on our strategic direction and the ensuing Action Plans to achieve our goals. We are finetuning our key strategies including: Organizational Excellence, Partnerships, and Growth. This process takes time and careful thought. We want to do it right and continue to build on the strengths and successes that make our Chamber such a powerhouse. We will regularly communicate our progress. I look forward to seeing this already high performing Chamber rising to even higher levels of accomplishments and greater support for its members.
Please remember, we have many volunteer opportunities available with the Wayzata Chilly Open on Feb 9 – 10. There are also great events coming up right away in January including: New Member Orientation, the return of the Leadership Luncheon Series, Welcome Visits & Ribbon Cutting Celebrations, and more. This is an excellent way to network and meet fellow Chamber members.
The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to include the Cities of Wayzata, Plymouth, Minnetonka, and beyond. We are grateful to each of our 400+ members for your engagement and support throughout the year. We are stronger together. Onward and upward.
