Unite for Safety Luncheon with Wayzata Police Chief Marc Schultz
Date: August 01, 2023
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: 200 Wayzata Blvd. W. Wayzata, MN 55391
You are invited to join the Wayzata Area Chamber for a special luncheon dedicated to public safety and crime prevention, including those that impact the business community. Wayzata Police Chief Marc Schultz will facilitate a dynamic panel discussion on how local police agencies work with other state and private organizations to address all types of crimes. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assists agencies all over the state with everything from homicides to financial crimes. The Minnesota Commerce Fraud Bureau has helped the City address catalytic converter thefts, auto thefts, and elder fraud. The Wayzata Police Department also partners with Wells Fargo, and other banks, to combat a gambit of financial related matters.
Panelists include:
Drew Evans, Superintendent at MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension
Tony Ofstead, Director/Chief Law Enforcement Officer at MN Commerce Fraud Bureau
Rose Lee, Financial Crimes Team Manager. External Fraud Investigations at Wells Fargo
The program will also honor this year's recipient of the Jim Fish Citizen Crime Prevention Award. The Jim Fish Award is an annual Crime Prevention award presented by the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition (WCPC) to recognize a Wayzata citizen or Wayzata area business person for service to the community, past and present, in the area of "crime prevention." The award is meant to honor the recipient, and via the name of the award, to honor Jim Fish, who was instrumental in bringing and keeping crime prevention programs in Wayzata.
Thank you to the City of Wayzata for their partnership in this annual program!
