State of the City Address & Luncheon

Date: January 31, 2008

Time: 12:00PM - 1:30PM

The Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon January 31 at Wayzata Country Club with guest speaker Mayor Andrew Humphrey.

Andrew Humphrey was born and raised in Wayzata, attending Blake School. He received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts, and his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. After a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Frank Easterbrook of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, Andrew returned to Minneapolis and began practicing law with Faegre & Benson. Faegre is now the largest law firm in Minnesota, with several U.S. offices as well as sizable offices in London, Frankfurt and Shanghai. Andrew practices corporate law and is now a managing partner at Faegre. He has been repeatedly named as a “Super Lawyer”, as one of the Best Lawyers in America and as one of America’s leading lawyers by Chambers USA International Guide.

Andrew’s community involvement has included service on the boards of directors of several non-profits, including the Methodist Hospital Foundation, the Minnesota Academic Excellence Foundation and Project for Pride in Living. His service for the City of Wayzata began with an appointment in 1992 to the Planning Commission, where he served as Chair until his election to the City Council. After two terms on the Council, he was elected Mayor in November 2004.

Andrew is married to Alison, a lawyer by training who is also actively involved in the community, and they have three children.

Please join the Chamber for this special event. The Mayor will expound on pertinent issues facing Wayzata at this time. More importantly we will celebrate the bright future of Wayzata. Reservations are required, please contact the Chamber office at 952-473-9595 to reserve a seat.
