Downtown Parking Project Survey

Posted on April 22nd, 2015 under Talk of the Town.

In recent months, the City Council has been working to address improvements to parking in the downtown business district.  The work began in late Fall by hiring consultant LSA Design to assist the City with a number of issues related to downtown parking, including:

  • Potential amendments to parking requirements in the downtown business district, creation of a parking district to address allocation of parking and maintenance, and management tools
  • Developing a plan of finance for potential improvements that could include wayfinding, real-time signage, improvements to existing parking and the construction of a new parking structure on Mill Street
  • Pilot projects such as valet parking rules/regulations, directing employee parking, and shuttle/transit options to address current parking issues
  • Potential renovation of the Marquee Place parking ramp (600 Lake St) and extension of public parking easement set to expire in 2017
  • Pre-Design for a new Parking Structure on Mill Street
  • Consideration of additional way-finding and real-time signage to help direct drivers to available parking

The City of Wayzata is working on addressing improvements to parking in the downtown business district. The City is performing a survey about Downtown Parking conditions and your response is valuable to provide feedback and input regarding downtown parking and the proposed ramp on Mill Street. The deadline for survey submission is May 15, 2015. Please click here to take the survey.
