Wayzata Shoreline Planting Event

Where: Behind the Section Foreman House

When: Saturday, June 7, 8:30am-12:30pm.  Lunch will be served.

What: 30 volunteers will plant native wildflowers, grasses and shrubs, including Marsh Milkweed, Blazing Star, Wild Strawberry, Cord Grass, Big Bluestem, Prairie Rose, and Native Honey Suckle, to increase green space, manage stormwater, and improve habitat and ecological diversity.

Details: We will be planting on a strip of shoreline that serves as a buffer between a stormwater retention pond and the lake.  Planting this stretch with native grasses and shrubs will enhance the beauty and quality of this landscape, while stabilizing the shoreline and improving habitat opportunities.  Lunch will be served after the event, and all ages are welcome to attend.
