A NOTE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR

Hello Chamber Members,

Can you believe we are in March already? March is the party month! I am thinking about Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, and of course March Madness. I am sure a lot of our members have all sorts of special offers around one of these fun events. So go support them and have a little fun doing it!

As we reflect on February, I have to say Chilly Open was a wild success! With the Las Vegas theme, everyone was having a delightful time and the event drew large crowds down to the lakefront on Friday and Saturday. Great job by the Chamber staff and all the wonderful volunteers who make this event a success. We can’t do it without you!

Our first event for March is Mixing Cocktails with Business. It was moved from February due to the snow storm and will now be on Thursday, March 2 from 4-6. It is a free event at One Door West by Gianni’s. Light appetizers and a cash bar will be featured. The event will also include a city update from City Manager, Jeff Dahl. We hope you can join us!

Our next Leadership Luncheon: State of the Cities will be on March 23, from 11:30-1:00 pm at the Wayzata Country Club. We will be joined by a stellar panel; Wayzata Mayor Johanna Mouton, Plymouth Mayor Jeff Wosje, Minnetonka Mayor Brad Wiersum, and Long Lake Mayor Charlie Miner. Join us and meet the mayors as we dig deeper into what makes the west metro a strong and vibrant part of our region. Our Brand Management luncheon drew over 90 participants. This new program has been a big hit, so please sign up for the remaining 3 sessions.

A brand new, members-only event is also on the calendar in March! Chamber members have the opportunity to participate in a free 90-minute training session from Sandler called “Networking or NOTworking” on March 30 from 8-10 am. Participants will look at ways to use networking events to not only improve existing client relationships, but also to build your client base. The event will be held at the Sandler Minnetonka office.

Summer is around the corner, so it’s time to sign up for our 64th Annual Roger Miller Golf Classic at Burl Oaks Golf Club on June 5 from 11:30-6:30. Looking to support the event? Sponsorships are now available! See how you can get involved in this great annual event! Join us for a great day on the course with fellow Chamber members and sponsors.

Have a fun and fabulous March, we hope to see you at any or all of these events!

– Kathy Packard, 2023 Board Chair, MRA

Leadership Luncheon Series – Three Sessions Left!

Our Leadership Luncheon Series is off to a great start! We hope that you join us for our third luncheon, State of the Cities. We will explore the opportunities and challenges facing these west metro communities, talk a bit about city budgets and taxes, discover what priorities these cities are tracking this Legislative Session and how they impact the community, check in on new development and redevelopment proposals, discuss public safety efforts, and learn about updates on park and recreation opportunities. Come join us and meet the mayors as we dig deeper into what makes the west metro a strong and vibrant part of our region!

Happy Women’s History Month!
