Forward progress on the railroad bridge

Crews continue work on the bridge over the railroad tracks in order to meet the target date of reopening this segment of roadway to traffic on November 1.

As part of this work, sheeting is being driven for retaining wall P located in the railroad corridor. Next up utility crews will be installing utility crossings at the bridge.

The road remains closed to through traffic while crews continue paving sections of the roadway (including side streets and driveways); pouring concrete for the medians and walkways; working on retaining walls; installing architectural stone and caps; paving the trails; seeding; placing topsoil and other similar construction activities. These tasks will be ongoing until this segment of road reopens on September 16.

Other work in the area

Minnehaha Creek Watershed District has begun restoring the west slope of Gray’s Bay. And, the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council continues to restore the burial mounds near Breezy Point curve.
